General Questions

WHAT DO WE DO?

Well, we do quite a bit! Our projects have included everything from ground up website builds, site redesigns, website security, branding and logo design, SEO and more. We cover a large scope of web and print design services. Web design include website development, responsive design, SEO, website security and expertise in wordpress and content management. Print design includes everything from small print designs like business cards, brochures and flyers to large vector designs for logo’s, billboards, posters and banners. DO WE HAVE AN HOURLY RATE?

Our services are catered to our clients needs, timeframes and functionality. Every project is different so we normally handle projects at a fixed rate. With that said, we do offer a retainer package in which you can purchase design time hourly and use it whenever you’d like for say, a new business card design, a new brochure design, website updates, etc. Currently, that is ¥300/hr at a minimum of a 4 hour retainer.

Once our website designs are completed and live, we offer to handle content changes, edits and graphic work done at our ¥300/hr rate.

HOW MUCH IS A WEBSITE?

This is often the first question We get when asked about websites, but there are many things to discuss before talking cost. Here are some of the questions We address before developing a proposal:

  • What is the goal of your website?
  • Who is your target audience?
  • What functionalities would you like your site to have?
  • Do you need custom graphics and pictures designed?

The question “How much is a website?” is answered once the details are in place and after We’ve created a detailed scope of the project. The big thing to remember here is that a professionally designed website is an investment, not a cost. Sounds like a cheesy tagline We know, but many of our clients’ websites are the lifeblood of their business and have come back to us after originally deciding to go a “cheaper” route.

In general, our projects will land anywhere between ¥2,500 – ¥10,000+ depending on the scope of the project, functionality, site size, etc. Which includes design, building, hosting, SSL certificate, domain name, and We add a bonus of 1 month of maintaining the back end of your site for FREE. We generally estimate projects into 4 ranges:

1) BASIC WEBSITE = ¥2,500+

This may constitute Online brochure style website (one page with multiple sections) or a small 3-5 pages & 2 forms site that has basic functionality. This is our starting point however because even a seemingly “basic site” isn’t that basic. We’re in the business of helping our clients grow their business via their web presence so even a one page/landing page site must be carefully crafted and ready for future growth.

2) LARGE WEBSITE = ¥4,500+

For larger websites with more than 20 pages. Often larger sites will need additional complex functionality too. This may have more advanced functionality and integrations like sign-ups, 3rd party software, advanced template creation and training for blogging or staff to take control of a website. We can also get into some e-commerce in this range with a very simple set up.

3) E-COMMERCE & MEMBERSHIP WEBSITE = ¥6,500+

eCommerce & Membership websites require more set up & functionality, & therefore cost more than a typical small website. If your needs exceed tricked out blogs and you are looking for e-commerce, exclusive membership area, file sharingtraining modules,  learning management systems, mls idx integration, etc., then you would LOVE this Package! 

4) Extra Large Site = ¥10,000+

This range includes  a more advanced setup and generally includes sites that are larger in a page number and have advanced functionality, training, etc.

In short, ALL of our sites are built for scale, growth and easily editability and updating capacity moving forward. Our goal is to create a site where we don’t have to re-invent the wheel when we want to add new plugins, tools or functionality. Our sites also last for years. Seriously, we still have sites out there that were built several years ago still kicking butt online.

We also provide ALL of our clients with resources, training and custom consulting to make sure they know how to utilize their site and are getting their best return on investment.

If you’re still just in the market for a “cheap” site, I recommend using a site like www.fiverr.com or looking at do-it-yourself builders like Wix or Squarespace and see how that goes ?

HOW DOES THE DESIGN PROCESS WORK?

Web design projects start with your online goals. We listen intently to your needs and questions then develop a vision as to how your website will look, how it will engage your clientele and more importantly, how it will represent you well. If it’s your first time working with a developer to build your website, no worries, our goal is to make the process personalized and uncomplicated to give you the best design experience possible.

The logo design process starts with research. We find out about your business, your goals, your vision and then We look at your competition. Once We find the elements that will set you apart, then We hit the drawing board. Most items are sketched out to find the right design elements and shape arrangement, then the top designs are taken to digital format where they really come to life. You’ll receive jpegs of the first mock ups via email. Once the design is approved, you’ll receive a full logo package with different file formats for web and print.

The print design process is similar to that of the logo design process. We look at your needs and work toward designing creative materials that represent you well. Initial designs are sent via email for edits and approval. The editing process continues until the product design is completed to satisfaction. All files are then finalized, formatted and ready to be sent to print.

DO WE DO THE PRINTING?

We handle the design, color management and file preparation, all printing is out-sourced within our network. We have strong connections with large format printers, small format printers, embroidery printers and more. If you need assistance with getting your marketing materials printed, We just add the cost to the project proposal. Our goal is to take care of everything from start to finish so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

WHAT'S OUR DESIGN TIME TURN AROUND?

For web design, pending clear communication and all information provided at the start of the project, We try to get the homepage and a few sub pages ready for review within 5-10 days. Once the design and layout are approved, then We move forward with the rest of the site. The majority of our website design projects last between 10-30 days.

For print design, We let you know when We plan to jump on the project then the initial design mock ups are sent within 72 hours unless stated otherwise. You’ll receive jpeg images via email to view for any input, adjustments or corrections you may have. That process continues until the design is completed and ready for print.

HOW DO WE HANDLE PAYMENTS?

Most projects are handled with an investment of 50% up front and 50% upon completion.  Payment must be made in full before items are sent to print or published to web. For projects on a larger scale, We offer payment options in a 30%, 30%, 40% time sensitive agreement. Alipay is preferable, but Wechatpay and Paypal are accepted.

CAN WE HELP YOU WITH MOBILE APPS?

We focus on what we’re good at – designing and building websites, however if you need someone to create your mobile apps for you, we have relationships with several app developers who can get the job done.

CAN WE CUTUP A PSD TEMPLATE FOR YOU?

No. We do not provide PSD to HTML services. We also do not work with other designers as part of our process. If you want to design a website with a PSD you should not work with Dephlex Creatives.

CAN WE WRITE YOUR WEBPAGE COPY?

Yes, we have copywriting services within our business and can arrange for it with a website build. We do not offer it as a standalone service.

CAN WE HELP YOU SECURE YOUR WEBSITE?

Yes. We do server hardening and security protection on WordPress websites as part of our Managed Service.

WHAT CMS DO WE USE?

We use WordPress as our choice CMS. It is the fastest growing CMS and is taking significant market share.

DO WE WORK WITH MAGENTO?

We are not accepting Magento projects at this time for new customers.

DO WE MAKE E COMMERCE WEBSITES?

Yes. We use WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads for our E Commerce platform.

WILL YOUR WEBSITE WORK ON A MOBILE PHONE?

Yes, we make sure our websites work on common mobile devices and tablets.

DO YOU NEED YOUR OWN DOMAIN NAME AND HOSTING?

We provide a web hosting platform with our managed service agreement. You will need to get your own domain name or we can also get you a domain.

HOW LONG IS OUR STANDARD PROJECT?

Most projects are deliveredy in 2 to 8 weeks. It generally depends on how quickly our customers can get content and information to us.

Website Maintenance

Do We provide phone support?

Yes. We do provide phone support. You can always book a meeting with one of our team.

How much does it cost?

Our services start at ¥100 per month.

Our billing is in Chinese Yuan.

What is our response time?

For our full support plans we strive to complete all tasks within 1 business day.

If you are on a project build then it will be added to the task list and handled with other tasks.

Do We really provide unlimited support?

YES! If you’re subscribed to our Full-Support plan, you can submit an unlimited number of WordPress tasks. Individual tasks are limited to approximately half an hour each but there’s no limit on the number of tasks you can send us.

Do We have an online chat support?

Yes we do offer online chat however you cab always send us an email if the online chat system is not available.

Why would I not get normal hosting?

If you get normal hosting it is up to you as a customer to maintain your website. You will need to login and run your own backups, plugin updates, core wordpress updates and theme updates.

If anything occurs when your page updates it will be up to you to fix it or role it back.
